mini haul: MAYBELLINE

Went to see harry potter with my movie friend... Ya I have an old friend of mine and we just met up to see movies in the theater...

Did a bit window shopping after the movie and then as we are girls..... How can we just go home without doing a bit shopping :-)) ...

So I got some beauty stuff from the Maybelline counter in Forum Mall, Bengaluru...

They had only plastic bags and I said NO to plastic, so they gave it to me in this Loreal paper bag...



I bought lipstick















Lip liner - colour sensational, no 750 choco pop....





The right side is just the lipstick... Left side swatch I have applied the lip liner and on top of that I have applied the lipstick...

Mascara


Then I was actually hunting for the Dream smooth mousse and Dream satin liquid foundations... Did not find them... So I settled for dream matte mousse.. I bought this from Shoppers Stop situated in Bannerghatta Road, Bengaluru ...
Had same bag problem here... So I just carried it in my hand till checkout....

A small swatch on my wrist.. An they have blended out very nicely....

• Good option for just reheating of food...
• These are usually cheap, ranging from 3000 to 12000 Rs... Widely available...
• Can use for reheating food, cooking jacket potatoes, defrosting meat, baking...
• Most microwaves include baking recipes and instructions for operation..
• Its less versatile than grill & combo microwaves... Which is the only con factor...

2. GRILL MICROWAVES:

• Is a solo microwave with heating element inside it...
• Cost from Rs 8000 to 35000...
• You can grill & roast... Which gives the traditional  brown finish to your food...
• Great for grilling toast, melting cheese, making pizza's...
• Performs good basic tasks...
• Often comes with a metal rack to get the food closer to the grill..
• Does not offer convection heating like combination microwaves...
• Its more expensive than the basic microwave's...

3. COMBINATION MICROWAVE:

• Has 3 way of cooking the food - microwave energy , grill & convection heating..
• Hence this can heat, roast, crisp & bake...
• Costs from Rs. 4000 to 32000...
• It's perfect for an up coming chef...
• Has vegetable, rice steamers, browning shelves...
• Plenty of handy automatic functions..
• Extra features are useless when all you want to do is just reheat and do basic meals...

Should have these to help you get the best output

• Browning dish - Used for searing, frying & browning the food... The browning dish has a coating on the bottom to attract the microwave energy...
• Roasting dish - Holds the food away from the heat so that liquid does not get collected.. Ideal if cooking bacon & reheating of pastries / dry snacks...
• Cake dish - Include cupcake trays, ring moulds, cake pans...
• Egg boiler - microwave safe containers that can boil up to like 4 eggs... 

2. OPERATING:

• Try and see if its difficult to operate the dial..
• Make sure that it displays the time, weight, power clearly..
• Use should be able to understand them...

3. CAPACITY:

• Capacity of about 17 - 19 litres...
• If you are the kind that throws a lot of parties or you are a family of 4 then you will need a capacity of about 28 litres...

4. LINERS:

• Catalytic liners or easy wipe enamel coating microwaves are easy to clean...

5. EXTRA FUNCTIONS:

• Include auto reheating, defrost, pre programming settings, easy set dials, turbo cook settings...

Airtel has launched its 3G mobile services in the cities of Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore on a test basis..

On enquiring whether Airtel has the technology to offer 3G services, Sanjay Kapoor of Bharti Airtel President (Mobility) told PTI

“We as an operator have 3G services in Seychelles. Our license for Sri Lanka is for 3G services as well and by the time 3G services are launched in India we will have enough experience. Moreover, we have SingTel as our partner who has wide experience of offering 3G services,”

He also told that 3G is just an incremental service for someone who has operations in 2G already.

Big Banyan Tree ( Dod Aladamara )

it was a beautiful day... perfect for a long drive :-)) ... wide roads... good view..










 many nursery (plants) on the way... if you are a plant lover then must look around...




finally we reached Big Banyan Tree :-)) ...

 watch out for monkey's (if they are hungry and see some food in your hand then might try to grab it from you) and dogs (they were very nice just wagging their tails for some food)....

As the name suggests, its a pretty huge banyan tree... Its a typical park... 
Nice place to unwind and skip all the city buzz and pollution... 
A familiar setting for many romantic movie sequences....
Maintained by a public sector bank..
The tree is about 400-year's-old & it seems to have reached the end of its life span as they have not maintained that well.... This is the fourth largest banyan tree in India... As any typical banyan tree does it spreads over the years and so has this one, its spread out widely with several aerial roots or prop roots...To support the growth of the tree the prop roots are given support as they reach the ground.  There are around 400 to 500 prop roots growing on this tree....With number of such roots spread out, the tree covers an area of three to four acres.... The entire tree area is fenced and one can walk alongside the labyrinth of roots, which create a cool, shady environment.... 
It is believed that the tree is symbolic of the trinity with the roots representing Brahma, the stems and the bark representing Vishnu and the branches symbolising Maheshwara...The Banyan Tree has its place in Buddhism as well as Lord Buddha attained his enlightenment under a Bodhi Tree which is also a Banyan Tree of the species Sacred Fig...
There is also a small Shiva / Lord Muneshwara temple in the enclosure...

Ramohalli, 25 to 28 kms South-East bound from the City... 
Situated in Kethohalli village..

ROUTE: 
You can reach the spot either from Kumbalgod on Mysore Road or from Chennenahalli on Magadi Road....
OR
Drive on Mysore Road beyond Kengeri, take a deviation to the right at Kumbalagod junction and proceed for seven kms. If approaching from Magadi Road, turn left at a spot with a clear indication between Tavarekere and Chennenahalli, and continue for about six kms...
OR

Drive down Mysore road and take a right turn near Raja Rajeshwari Dental College..  Country club is also situated on this road. Continue to drive until you reach the Big Banyan Tree..

Many buses reach the place from the City...

HAS: 
Upon reaching the place you will find a few small snack shops and roadside vendors, hotels including Hotel Mayura belonging to the KSTDC that come to view as one drives into the place.. So no need to worry about food & water unless you are specific in eating....

ENTRY: Is free... Wont be charged for camera, etc... 

NOTE: Watch out for the monkey's....
